9.5 week old baby straining and crying.?
My 9.5 week old baby daughter strains and cries but only manages to pass wind and hasn't had a bowel movement since Monday (normal, loose and runny and not hard or firm). Previous to that she pooped again on Friday and this was because I'd been to the Drs who'd given me some lactulose syrup. Before the visit she hadn't had a bowel movement for 4 days and was in apparent discomfort, straining and crying with the legs going..
Is this constipation or has she been misdiagnosed and has anyone here experienced this with their baby. Because the poop she's been producing has been normal looking and not solid I don't know whether she is constipated or not.
She feeds well otherwise and is eclusively breastfed.
7 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWhat's in your changing bag?
I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant and was wondering what other than nappies, wipes and cream do you keep in your babies changing bag?
Also what baby toiletries would you use if any (soaps, shampoos, oils, moisturisers etc)? I've read that newborns up until the time they begin crawling only really need bathing in water but what are your experiences?
21 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoCan anyone recommend the Babasling?
Just wondering if anyone here has used the Babasling and what you think of it. Would you recommend it? Is it easy to use, feel safe and secure etc? How is it when used in conjunction with breastfeeding?
Thanks!
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoReusable nappy advice?
I'm currently 25 weeks into my pregnancy and keen to use reusable nappies, in particular the Bumgenius "all in one" nappy.
As this is my first child I don't know if/what else I need to use in conjunction with the all in one nappy (flushable liners etc).
Can anyone please advise. Plus does anyone here use Bumgenius? Would you recommend them?
Thanks! :D
7 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHow well is the UFC regulated regarding the taking of performance enhancing drugs?
Whenever I've watched UFC fights and looked into the competitors they look almost un-human. The facial features and general structure of the body looks un-natural and I can't help but think that steroids and other performance enhancing drugs seem to play a massive part in this 'sport'.
In comparison you look at boxers and they generally don't have too much bulk (excess weight has it's disadvantages) but look naturally toned and conditioned and still have the power and speed.
So my question is how well is drug abuse monitored in the UFC and how many competitors have been found guilty of taking PED's?
8 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoWho on earth pays to see a Audley Harrison match?
I can't even use the word 'box' or 'fight' when describing the painfully boring spectacle that is Harrison.
He's such a lazy guy and I'm so pleased Rogan won, he actually boxed which is more than can be said for Harrison.
So my question is, does anybody here find Harrison entertaining to watch and would you buy a ticket to see him box? Please please explain to me why!
10 AnswersBoxing1 decade agoIs this website a scam?
www.jaybid.com
I stumbled across this site which was advertised on Facebook, it's a supposed online auction site. It had a load of products like Nintendo Wii, LCD TV's and £500 pounds worth in cash to bid for and they were apparently selling for anything between £6-£50. It also announces the latest winners and what the bid went up to.
I thought this was too good to be true. I tried registering to find out more but the link was dead and alarm bells began to ring when there was no contact information, T's & C's, or any other company information. I checked out the source code and there's no scripting like javascript or anything to indicate livefeeds etc, just HTML and CSS.
I found the guys contact details via http://whois.domaintools.com/ and contacted him. He was keen and quick to answer my registering questions but when I asked about the authenticity of the site, I didn't get a response. The next thing the site is taken down for "updates". However it's up again this morning if you want to take a look.
So, do you think this is a genuine site or a scam? If it's a dodgy site, does anyone know who I need to report it to?
Thanks and sorry for such a lengthy question but I thought I'd offer as much info as poss!
7 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoIs it OK to perform an activity like chopping wood during the early stages of pregnancy?
Occasionally I help out my OH in chopping fire wood. I'm in my early stages of pregnancy and was wondering if this is too strenuous a job for me to be doing whilst pregnant? I'm not booked in to see the mid-wife till the end of the month and was wondering if anyone here has been given any advice relating to something similar to this.
Any advice is appreciated!

7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoKi and water?
I've been practising aikido now for a total of 5 years (3.5 years traditional aikikai and 1 year ki aikido) and have been working on developing my ki.
I focussed on ki development one afternoon and I happened to put my hand in a bath full of water and it made my hands feel very peculiar.
Just out of curiosity has anyone experienced this and is ki more powerful in the water?
5 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoBamboo or hardwood flooring?
I'm keen on using bamboo flooring in our house rather than hardwood because of it's sustainability and am concerned about using products that are less harmful to the environment.
Considering bamboo is a more sustainable source yet it has to be transported from the other side of the world, what will have less of an environmental impact, bamboo or hardwood flooring?
However also considering this, where does most hardwood flooring come from?
Furthermore, is bamboo flooring suitable to be used in conjunction with wet underfloor heating (as opposed to electric)?
15 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoCan anyone recommend any old school hip hop groups?
I'm looking for music which is old school hip-hop a bit like beastie boys but more street (if you like) and less commercial. It doesn't necessarily have to have rapping or vocals in it.
Thanks in advance!
12 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop1 decade agoWhat's the average MPG for the SWB Toyota Hiace Van?
We can't seem to find this information anywhere on the Toyota UK site or in the brochure.
If possible can you supply the average MPG for when the van is empty and the figure for when it's carrying a full load?
1 AnswerToyota1 decade agoHow would you describe 'British values"?
We keep being told we're losing our British values and that immigrants need to embrace our British values but what are they and what makes it Britain so different to any other country?
I'm asking what's your interpretation of British values, not to incite hatred and blame the immigrants again please.
13 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoYahoo or quiet you?
I'm overwhelmed by all the hatred and negative comments some users on this site express towards immigrants and asylum seekers and Yahoo allow it continue. Yet I offer a counter-argument and MY question/thread gets removed and the reason Yahoo gives is that I insulted participants!!
To me comments like:
"put them all(the immigrants) on a ship and sink it"
"F*ck off back to their own country"
"They smell"
"Vote BNP."
which have been posted on many questions are RACIST. You would have heard comments like these from Nazi supporters towards the Jewish population back in the 30's.
Yahoo has really gone down in my estimation.
Yahoo appear to be unbalanced in their approach to moderate. Anyone else experienced this?
16 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoIt's windy here today. I blame the immigrants!?
Come on all you Daily Mail, The Sun, The Express readers, what other crappy things can you think of that's happened to us Brits that we can blame on 'the foreigners'?
I'm sorry but I'm getting sick of all the narrow minded ignorants who blame the immigrants for everything that has gone to crap in the UK.
34 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoI'm still receiving a newsletter that I keep trying to unsubscribe to...?
I have in the past received a sales newsletter which I hadn't requested. I've tried several times to unsubscribe (by clicking the unsubscribe link) and still continue to receive these nuisance emails. I've also personally emailed the company to tell them to remove me from the mailing list but have had no response and instead have received YET another newsletter. Is there some kind of organisation (in the UK) I can report this company to?
Thanks in advance! :)
6 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoIs it me or has newspapers, news channels etc stopped reporting actual news?
All I see when I look through papers like The Express, Daily Mail etc all I see is sensationalism and speculation, which celeb's got cellulite this week and how everything is to be blamed on the ethnic minorities. Even news channels like the BBC and Sky News are shoddy and I've yet to see a balanced report in all sources mentioned above. The only paper I can find which offers balanced reports is the Times!
I believe the media have a lot to answer for. They create hatred and uproar and only seem to focus on negative issues and this really frustrates me. Why can't they just report things which have happened and offer a fair and balanced piece. What has happened to journalism and the media? They're fuelling the fires of the ignorant causing fear and hatred in society. What do you think should be done? Do you have the same opinion?
7 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoIs it OK to give hens peanuts?
I live in the Highlands and the temperature is -7 and is forecast to remain on the freezing side.
I am considering giving the hens something like peanuts (unroasted and unsalted, like the ones you put in bird feeders) for its fat and protein content during these cold periods but was wondering if this is OK. Are hens able to digest peanuts easily?
12 AnswersBirds1 decade agoNew website! How do I encourage traffic?
Hi, I've launched a new website: www.gobuygifts.co.uk which is basically an affiliate site. I've completed a simple search engine submission, emailed firends and family asking them to point their friends and family to my site and also annouced it in my Facebook profile. Can anyone else suggest how I get people to my site? It's not a full time project but I hope it'll earn me some extra cash. I've received commission from the site already but I'd like more people to see it as I think it's quite a useful site.
