How would you describe 'British values"?

We keep being told we're losing our British values and that immigrants need to embrace our British values but what are they and what makes it Britain so different to any other country?

I'm asking what's your interpretation of British values, not to incite hatred and blame the immigrants again please.

Update:

It's becoming increasingly frustrating that some people responding on Yahoo in general are not reading the question fully before responding!

Sando: I too am British, I'm not slagging the country off I'm asking what your interpretation is regarding British values.

Update 2:

Mike D2: I can't seem to escape anyone on here who has to have a snipe at immigrants. If I asked a question regarding fish and chips some smart-alec would wangle a negative reference to immigrants. Please, please, please no more, it's getting v boring!

Update 3:

Hania19: What is it that you don't like about "British values"? What's your interpretation?

I can't agree with your opinion as you haven't specified anything regarding what you consider as British values. I agree you shouldn't forget your roots but believe people should aim to adapt to the society within which they live.

To be British is to love Britain, to defend Britain, and to support Britain. To be British is to aim for a better Britain.

Being British conjures up notions of fair play, rounded education, good driving, respect for laws, standing up for rights and against injustice, sharp humour (irony, self-effacement, puns etc), sociability, appreciation of foreign people and customs, generosity in giving to charitable causes, invention and creativity, independence, tolerance and flexibility.

We are certainly not perfect and perhaps we still cling too much to the "glorious" past but we represent a lot of what is good in the world.

Such a shame about your last sentence.

Britain has been led down the multi culturism path so much that we have NO BRITISH VALUES left.

Whilst I believe we had something like 550 000 immigrants coming here last year legally, over 400 000 BRITISH quit the country, many I'm sure out of despair.

The only British value left is self respect.

    Politics has let us down.

    God Save Us All.

I think British values are the values our grandparents held, sorry to say in this day and age they have been sadly eroded.

In the old days there wasn't the vice and drugs about like there is now, murders far and few between, everyone were more neighbourly, those were the true British values, sadly they have long gone

So they like us and we like them. May be here are historical traditions as GB was ever been very tolerant to my country and In exchange ,I hope it deeply, imigrants from my country go there mainly for work and not bringing mafia and crimes.
