If an airline is hiring a pilot, where does it prefer they come from, Embry Riddle, MIT, or the Military?

I am just wondering which one they prefer their pilots to be from.

They prefer experience. You are not going to get a job as a pilot for a major airline with just a degree. There is no on-the job training.

Generally airlines consider that if you were a pilot in the Military as a big plus. Because you have already flown planes. If you just have a degree it is going to take a long time to get the amount of experience you are going to need to get hired.

It probably depends on the airline. The amount of experience aspecially in aircraft they fly and your flying skills are what they look at the most.

Last I heard, MIT doesn't have a flight school.
