Anyone had fillings redone?
I have to go to the dentist Friday and get 6 worn-out fillings replaced. I'm getting 5 resin composites and 1 porcelain inlay. I have no idea what all this involves. Can someone please tell me what I'm in for? I'm nervous and afraid of possible pain. If a dentist is on here and can explain, all the better.

You wont even notice the difference between refilling a filling and doing a brand new filling - I had one refilled and 3 new ones done last week and I felt no pain as the dentist numbed the appropriate areas. The only slight pain I felt was the numbing needle shot. But even that wasnt terrible!!
You wont feel a thing when the fillings are being redone etc, you will just hear the sounds of the drills and equipment being used but overall nothing to worry about!
Trust me once you walk out of there you will think, well that was nothing to worry about!!

there wont be too much pain involved because your dentist will numb you well... but I will tell you be prepared for the stench .. because when he starts drilling out the old fillings ... uuuughggghhh... it smells like burning flesh.. so you might want to get some metholatum to put under your nose...
