  • Ladies: Question for those who ve given up dairy?

I have given up dairy after consuming it for the entire 40 years of my life. I ve been off it about three weeks now, and I ve noticed that I m spotting between periods. I ve done that for a couple days out of the last few months, but now it s a bit worse since I gave up dairy. I m not on any birth control at the moment and have not been for a while. I m thinking my hormones are all out of whack since I ve given up dairy, because until now, I ve never been without it. Anyone else experienced this after quitting dairy?

  • what offense qualifies suspension without pay?

A male, non-exempt co-worker of mine just got suspended without pay. It's being kept quiet for now. What sorts of behavior would have warranted this?

  • What should i do about an annoying co-worker?

This guy purposely makes weird noises, sings and whistles loudly whenever I'm around. This makes me nervous. He doesn't do this when anyone else is present. I think he's purposely trying to irritate me because some months back I reported him for doing something that was stupid and dangerous to others. Ever since, he's been doing this. I know he's trying to push my buttons and make me react. I thought of saying something to him myself, but if I do, he's liable to get me in trouble with the supervisor. If I tell the supervisor, he's liable to think I'm paranoid or crazy, but I know this isn't something he does with others. I'd like to tell the supervisor, but don't even know how to word it. Some advice please.

  • Cannot log on to Yahoo Messenger?

For the past 2 days, I can't get into Messenger. I hit the Troubleshoot button, but nothing wrong shows up. I try to call the Yahoo help line, but can't get through. What is the problem with Yahoo lately??? I am connected to the Internet all the time, and this problem has never happened before. I checked the Help page and deleted Yahoo Messenger off the App Management page like it suggested, still nothing. I would try to connect with a proxy server, but don't know how to even find any numbers. Can someone please help?

  • Confused about the timelines in the 1980 film "The Shining" ?

In the beginning, Jack was told by his future boss that a caretaker murdered his own family, then killed himself, in the hotel in 1970. He takes the job anyway and ends up in a 1920s bar scene in the hotel, where the other caretaker, Delbert Grady, tells Jack that he (Jack) was the caretaker all along. At the end, Jack dies, and his picture appears in a photo dated July 4th, 1921. So what does 1921 have to do with 1970, and in which of those years did Delbert Grady kill his own family and himself? Why did Jack appear in the 1921 photo? Just wondering if anyone can answer those questions? And don't tell me to read the book, that's not what I'm asking.

  • Writing a letter to my nosy neighbor

I live in an apartment building with a few older people. One of them is a Christian and a goody-two-shoes. He heard me cursing in my own home the other night, and he mentioned it to my mother, who lives in her own place down the hall. I'm an adult in my 30s, yet he felt the need to tell my mother that I cursed at him when he was coming out in the hall, even though I didn't direct anything toward him. He whines constantly about this and that to my mother, from our A/C units and refrigerators buzzing loudly in his ears to this. I think it's a form of harassment, and I want to write him a letter telling him to stay out of our business. How do I do this without him being able to accuse me of the same thing? I hesitate to put a letter under his door because I'm pretty angry right now, but he cannot control my cursing or anything else I do or say in my own apartment. He's 62 and retired, and does nothing but sit at home or go to church. Everyday.

  • Anyone had fillings redone?

I have to go to the dentist Friday and get 6 worn-out fillings replaced. I'm getting 5 resin composites and 1 porcelain inlay. I have no idea what all this involves. Can someone please tell me what I'm in for? I'm nervous and afraid of possible pain. If a dentist is on here and can explain, all the better.

  • Do i really need to see a dentist every 6 months?

I brush, rinse, and floss 4x a day every day, after meals and then again at night before I go to bed. I see the dentist for a cleaning and x-rays twice a year, every year. The last couple of times I went, they told me I was doing a great job of cleaning them and keeping the tartar away; they barely used the pic on them. I've only been doing the 4x a day routine for about a year; before that, it was twice a day and even then I had no problems except a bit of tartar formed. Now I'm keeping it at bay, according to the hygienist. I really don't want to have to go all the time because now that they don't have to do much, they want to do straightening and whitening and I don't want to go through all that; I couldn't afford it anyway. So don't lecture me on cosmetic procedures because that's not what I'm asking.

  • Tom's of Maine toothpastes?

When I buy a tartar control toothpaste, I find that my teeth start to hurt. I don't bother with them at all. However, Tom's of Maine makes a toothpaste I'd like to try. I'm wondering if anyone who's tried the ones with tartar control had problems with sensitivity, or if there was none due to the fact that this is supposed to be "natural" toothpaste.

  • Our landlord won't give us enough heat!?

There are six tenants in this building, ranging in ages from early 20s-late 90s. In the winter, most of the time the heat is at least 68F but often more. The problem is on the days/nights it gets to 0F or below; then the pipes bang because the heat is so low and the apartments get down as low as 60-62F. People sit in their apartments with gloves and coats on. When tenants complain, he replies, "It's an old furnace; I can't do anything about it; it's up as far as it will go", which we all know is a lie. I know this is illegal, but exactly who can I call to complain to so that this bastard will be forced to turn up the heat? Can anything be done?

  • How do I get my DAT files to show up in Messenger?

When I had to uninstall and reinstall Version 9.0 Beta the other day, I had my message archive intact until I shut down my computer. Then, when I logged on again, my Messenger seemed not to exist. I had to uninstall and reinstall again. Now it's working, except for my message archive! I no longer have it, yet I have old DAT files in my folder as recent as last spring, so at least I have files as recent as several months old. Is there a way I can get back the newer archives? If not, how do I at least make the older archive files show up in Messenger? They seem to be in the correct folder. Please help.

  • How do I protect my knees while exercising?

I bought a dance workout DVD with different dance styles on it, including a ballet sculpt. That involved squatting and twisting to the side on one leg while still in a squat. I hurt my knees for a day in the process. What can I do as an alternate exercise to that move and still get the benefit from it?

  • How do I report a bully at work?

There is a crotchety, miserable old b*tch at my workplace. When I began there I was put in a room with her. Within months, I couldn't stand her because of her overbearing, aggressive, opinionated attitude. Finally, 2 years ago, my boss moved me into another room. But this woman still continues to bother me, by imitating me, joking about me, and being rude to me in front of others. I come home upset. How can I tell my boss? I can't prove it, because she doesn't use my name. She's rude to others as well, but mostly to me. We have a no-tolerance harassment policy at work, but I'm afraid of retaliation and of everyone thinking I'm a horrible person. But I can't take her rudeness to me in front of others anymore. This has to stop. And I don't want to quit this job because I'm paid well and have great benefits.

  • "Baked" cheese sandwiches?

Someone once served me a cheese sandwich baked in the oven instead of fried on the stove. Has anyone else ever done this? What temperature should I set the oven and how long should I bake it if I want to have the cheese fully melted, the center soft, and the edges crispy, but not burned?

  • For V.C. Andrews Readers?

What are your favorite books/series? My favorites are all the books from the entire Casteel series, along with My Sweet Audrina. Also Dawn and Secrets of the Morning from the Cutler series, and Unfinished Symphony and Music in the Night from the Logan series. But I confess, I haven't read all of her books.
