How can I get rid of unwanted programs that seem to have insinuated themselves into my computer?

Annoying antiSpyware windows and companies offering to clean up my hard drives keep popping up. i certainly don't want to open them up as goodness knows what will come flooding into my computer. I can't seem to get rid of them even when I try to delete them from my c drive - they keep telling me access is denied and I can't do it. is there some software i can either buy, or download that will help me get rid?

Use the add/remove programme in control panel to search for anything that looks dodgy. Then run a good antispyware and anti virus (AVG free is very good). Also install a good pop up blocker.

Also start your pc in 'safe' mode once you have done all this and then search your c drive for any remnants of the programme and delete them by hand.

you should have bought norton it will have protect you against these, and even if you do open them norton catches them and blocks and deletes them from your computer as same has happened to me in past.

if it dont work or you already have then try spybot,if not you will have to take it to a computer shop who can then remove the programs but it would probably be cheaper buying a new computer

    You've downloaded a rogue program.

Search for rogue software, you will need to run lots of different anti-spy & anti-virus to get rid of it. Then put some protection on.

try downloading spybot and using that. it's free and it's the only program that actually works well for no money. Otherwise just go to your internet settings, block the web sites you don't want, block the pop-ups and change your antivirus (assuming you have one) to maximum security.

it could be that they are being allowed in through another programme u installed, look through your programmes and see if theres somethin u don't recognise, the same thing happened to me and it turned out it was because of a downloaded backgrounds website

press start, press control panel, third one in "add or remove programs" and it should bring up a list of what software you have installed on your computer and you can uninstall it on there aswell.
