Cheap florists that can deliver a single rose?
I need to deliver a single rose to somone....as an I miss you thing and I went to a florist today that was $7.95 for delivery but you needed to spend atleast $25 minimum on the flowers to be delivered.
I live in philadelphia and that was the only florist I know of but I also know there are ALOT more. I was just wondering are they all gonna be like this or would they deliver a single rose.
I cannot do it myself for certain reasons.
I'm 18 and this girl is 17.

Well, we would do it if you were in Long Island, NY. I don't understand why they refused to take your order. I'd say they are not a good local business. Just keep calling other shops in your area; I'm sure some of them will help you.
Do Google/Yahoo local search using the key words "florists in philadelphia PA".
Tell them that you will pay whatever their delivery fee (anywhere between $7-10 these days). Tell them that you only need a single rose nicely-wrapped ($5-$10, depending on whether you want any fillers or greens, etc). Plus sales tax.
The only reason they might decline your request would be if they were too busy. But during summer time, our business is very slow.

Most florists dont have a margin on delivery. They pass on the direct cost to the customer however they have to write out the card, run the risk of loss or redelivery if the recipient isnt home and spend time reconciling delivery driver costs etc. Thats why most florists wont deliver cut flowers and instead will only deliver an arrangement. In Australia the average cost of a single long stem boxed rose is $42 to $45. we have a web site and deliver boxed roses to Melbourne for $35. The price you have been quoted sounds reasonable to me provided it is a premium long stem rose in a box and delivered.

Look in the yellow pages under florists and see who delivers. It will not be cheap to deliver one rose. Most florists have a minimum order for free delivery

Florists charge these amounts because they use top quality flowers. If you look for cheaper flowers you will get cheaper looking ones. Another option to get to the minimum spend of $25 is to add a box of chocolates to go with the single rose.
Delivery charges are up due to the cost of petrol these days.

Look in your phone book or online for more florists. Call and ask how much delivery is and if there is a minimum. Good luck!

Why don't you order a bouquet of roses and have the single rose (whatever color) in the middle of the other roses (different color than single rose). Good Luck!
