I have secured a part-time, but I know of several full-time jobs available. What's the best thing to do?

I have a very part-time job secured for the fall in a school about 30 minutes drive. But other, full-time jobs have come to my attention closer to home. If I apply for them and get one, is it bad etiquette to quit the part-time one?

Update:

All jobs are in the educational assistant area of work. I would love any job I got in this field.

If you prefer a full-time job instead of a part-time, let your part-time employer know that you've been offered a position with more hours and you've decided to accept that position. It's not bad etiquette to quit one job for a better one. Just make sure if/when you quit that you give them a two (2) weeks notice.

Just because something offers more hours, or is better paid, does not mean it is what is the best option.

Weigh up all the for's, and against's, for each job, then make a rational decision on that information.
