9 month old lack of Sleep?

My 9 month old still wakes up twice during the night to nurse. And latley she has only been nursing for a half hour total then going back to sleep. I am just getting exhausted from constantly getting up, and I have trouble getting back to sleep once I have her asleep. Are there any ideas to get her to sleep through the night? I cant let her cry it off.....I have a 2 1/2 year old that sleeps in the bedroom right next to her and I dont want to wake her.

Update:

She is a very much against bottles. She will not touch a bottle to save her life...only breast. I have pumped and had my husband and both grandmas try to get her to take it but to no avail. I have tried feeding her closer to bedtime but it dosen't help. She also dosent like baby cereal. I have been at my wits end before and brought her to bed with me just to get enough sleep to have to deal with caring for her and her older sister and clean house.

My son did the same thing. I would bring him into my bed and let him nurse while I went back to sleep. I know some people don't like doing that because they think it creates bad habits. But my son is 12 months now, and he sleeps through the night in his own crib. So it worked for us.

Start feeding her cereal before bedtime...If her tummy is full hopefully she will sleep through the night...Sounds like she is just used to you holding her in the middle of the night...If you are really needing some sleep, put in the bed with you for a nite or 2, just dont let it become a habit!

I know this may sound cruel, but here goes anyway... WATER. I did this with my daughter when I was at my witts end from lack of sleep. When I noticed that she's waking and nursing less (or doesn't seem as hungry), I would give her a bottle with some warm water (boiled first of course). Slowly she realized that she's not getting milk, and it's not worth getting up for, and she stopped. (My doctor adviced this by the way.)

It's pretty normal for many babies to wake up for feeds during the night. Since she is 9 months and presumably eating solids (baby food, soft finger foods, cereal, etc.), try feeding her more during the day.

Unfortunately, there's not alot else you can do, she will sleep through the night when she is ready.

give the baby someting a bit more filling before bedtime. a little cereal in the bottle before bed time usually helps.
