Well that is tricky, the man can take this as nothing.

The person choosing to get the tattoo is only living from their experience and how it would make them feel. The man in the relationship will have a different set of opinions and feelings.If you base your decisions on your own perceptions you are setting yourself up for failure

Also, getting a tattoo could be looking for an emotional connection with the person and just going about it in a very permanent way. A way to make the person realize you are there.

If you are married, ask the person what they think?

If you want it to be a surprise, still ask what they think but just don't let them know it is what you are thinkng of doing.

Personally, I would find out what the other person felt before I get a needle pounded into my arm thousands of times, only to have the next significant other I find in life have to look at someone else's name.

I am 32 and have been married for 12 years. I have my husband and both of my childrens names tattooed on my arm and I did it out of love for my family. Everyone always asks what happens if you get a divorce. First of all, I don't plan on getting a divorce. I believe in getting married one time only and working through the tough times to get to the good times. Second, if for some reason things get to the point where working through it isn't an option, he will always be the father of my children so having his name on my is OK either way. That is why I did it... I cannot answer for why every woman who has it done did it.

What are you kidding? You have to get turned on to your own body. Trust me things are much better if you can turn yourself on. Doesn't mean your gay or you like the same sex. I get turned on by my own body all the time which makes me want sex more. There are times when I don't turn myself on so much and sex is no where near as good. I think alot of people are like this. I have a tattoo on my neck of my spouse. We have been together 6 yrs. Everyone says its bad luck to get their name on your body. I dont think so.. we now have 3 kids. and He also put my name on his neck.

I truely Love him. But I think it leans to and Obsessive compolisive personality. Him and I are exactly the same in attitude.

i think it will show the world how stupid u r,,,cause what if u two break up???and that happens,,my daughter was 21,shes old enough to deside what she wants to do with her body,,but i did try to tell her,,its not a good idea,,,did she listen to me,,,nooooo cause shes going to marry this guy,,,,,well they never did get married and shes married now with this creeps name on her arm,,she wears long sleeve shirts to hide it,,someday when she gets the money she will hav it removed,,,im just saying if u do why not have it put where no one can see it,like ure bottom,,or ure boob,,peace

it shows that she loves him. it could also show that the woman is confident that she is going to love him for the rest of her life, cause a tattoo is a permenant thing.

it could also show a sign of low self esteem depending on how long the relationship with this person has lasted, or how many names this woman has tattooed on her body.

if she's sober, put alot of time and thought into it, and the relationship is serious, its a good thing and shows she loves him dearly.

if it happens very quickly after the relationship starts, she may just be grasping for something serious and permanent.

There are MANY other, better, ways to show someone how much you dig them. Having a lovers name inked on your body is just stupid IMO.
