I'm in the mood for a good black comedy, anyone have any recommendations?

Are you looking for "dark" off color comedy or African American Comedy like Martin lawrence and Bernie Mack?

"The Loved One" with Robert Morse, Rod Steiger, and Jonathan Winters. One of the darkest and funniest comedies ever made, which takes a very cynical look at the funeral industry. Winters is especially fine as "the Beloved Reverend" who has one of the great lines of all time when he realizes he could make more money selling his Forest Lawns-styled "Funeral Park" as real estate, except for one little problem. "There's got to be some way to get those stiffs off my property." Highly recommended for anyone in the mood for great black comedy.

It appears most people thought you were referring to race and not "black humor" a la Kubrick's "Dr Strangelove" or perhaps Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life". Bith are worth checking out.

For a tragic/comedy that involves predominantly black characters, I thought "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" was pretty enjoyable as well.

I think my husband and I are the only people that liked Norbit, but I would suggest that. Friday is also pretty funny like the answerer below me said. Or try Don't be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.
