In general, no. Alcohol isn't a truth serum and while some people do spill their guts (and their heart) when drunk, others talk smack and don't say a single thing that has a lick of truth in it.

Until a person says the same thing sober, I don't take drunk words very seriously.

If someone got drunk and said something that bothered you, then discuss it with them when they are sober. It's your choice to allow it to trouble you...and if it does happen to be true (or the person's real feelings) ya might as well find out so you can deal with it in your way, and move on.

I do believe in the phrase but like every thing, it has to apply to the situation. You see some people when they are drunk, I feel they let go of all inhibitions and loose all sense of common sense. I feel that they pretty much say things to be mean even though they do not mean them. Alcohol makes people react differently. Some people become mouthy, others they love the whole world. In some instances I believe a mans drunk words are his sober thoughts, but there is a fine line. You have the make the decision in your case whether or not they are his sober thoughts. Just remember, we all make choices in this world and this is one choice, do you tell him off and let him know, or do you try to understand its the alcohol taking and not really him. In your heart, dig deep, and you will find the answer.

    just think:

" This guy's drunk so he can't even sit up straight he disoriented and he can't even look me straight in the eye so why should i let him get me down"

that's what most women do but don't say anything back to him like "listen you drunk loser get the f*** away from me!" that would only cause trouble just simply leave the area and go on with your married life.

by making a voddoo doll and sticking pins in it usually helps. Or you can go shopping, eat cream cakes, dance nude in your bedroom any of these should work. If all else fails get drunk yourself. Just get a sense of humour and dont let cheap words affect you especially the words that smell of booze.

BOTH CAN BE TRICKY. IF THE DRUNK MAN'S WORDS ARE THE TRUTH THAN READ JOHN 8:32. IF HE SPEWS LIES THAN U BE THE JUDGE

Just avoid them...and don't think about it. You will never find out what they want to say or not. Believe, a human being is able to pretend anyway and whenever.
