I would classify myself as a "sort of" Christian, because it's still pretty often I disregard being Christ-like to do what I want to do anyway.
I'm conscience of my behavior, as a "sort of" Christian, and I am definitely more in control than I was before I found Christ, but I certainly haven't conquered what I need to conquer before I would consider myself a full on Christian.
All I can say is with each day I improve, but there is the occassional day where I know I took 3 steps back, keeping me further from my goal of being Christ-like.
I'm in awe of Christians I see who have mastered it, have good self-control, and love despite what they're faced with.

"A sort of Christian". That sounds like being "kind of pregnant". Talk to a Christian is where I would start.

what is "a sort of" christian?
To become a Christian (You either are or you are not), repent of your sins and trust in Jesus Christ.
Read the bible, start with the gospel of John

You don't become a "sort of" Christian. You either belong to Jesus or you don't.
To belong to Jesus, you give your life over to Him as you repent of your sins and ask Him to forgive you.
