You have 2 options in order to achieve a high definition picture. The easiest way is to use the HDMI connections. One HDMI cable is all you need to connect the box to your TV. An HDMI cable carries both the HD video signal and the digital audio signal. However, HDMI cables can be expensinve.

The other option utilizes the Component video connections and Audio connections. A component cable has 3 connectors on each end. They are color coded to match the jacks on the TV and box. just match the colors on each end. This, however is only for the video. You also need to connect a cable for the audio signal. For audio, there should be a digital audio connection. This is in the form of either an optical cable or a coaxial cable. If you have both types of connections, I recommend going with optical. If you are not concerned with digital quality sound, just use the red and white RCA style audio connectors.

There may also be 2 other options for connecting video. Composite video (yellow RCA connector) and S-Video. These will work for basic use, but they will not give you a high definition picture.

In summary, HDMI is the easiest and it is becoming the standard for HD connectivity. The only reason you may not be able to use this, is if your TV is older and does not have this capability.
