I'm really confused to whether its global warming or global cooling. Please help me with some information because I don't know what to believe.

    a lot of people are confused because of all the information that is flying around, and all the misinformation flying around as well. which is why the alarmists have started calling it global climate change rather than global warming or global cooling. this way they can still blame man for the problem, and not look like idiots if the climate does things contrary to what they are claiming.

    the best you can do is your own research, study the geological record, the ice core record, and even listen to the argument on both sides, and make up your own mind. the key here is research with an open mind, and likely you will come to the same conclusion that i have, and that is;

    we dont have enough information to really know what is going on with the climate, because science does not truly know how the climate works. a little knowledge is dangerous, and both sides have a little knowledge. however the side that is claiming that man created the problem doesnt have enough evidence to convince me, where as the side that claims the issue is natural does.

    for the last 30-40 or so years the world has warmed but recently(the last two years) the global temperature has gone down a whole degree enough to completely obliterate all the warming of the last 40 years. So technically we are currently cooling(but yet again nothing to get exited about lol) after most of the country witnessed the coldest winter on record or at least since the 1900's i sure hope that we see some more warming here soon!!!

    The last Ice Age ended about 12-15000 years ago. Didn't end because of man caused pollution. The last "mini Ice Age" ended about 1820. It was so cold that Boston harbor frozen over.

    Glaciers once covered much of North America and have long since receded. Not because of the actions of man.

    The last great "warming trend" recorded by mankind was the middle ages. Again, not caused by human activity.

    The truth is, the earth is about 3-4 billion years old, no human knows all the cycles the planet has gone through and most likely never will. At one time, there was little or no oxygen in the atmosphere. No one knows, due to limited human history, the long term affects of the sun's temperature changes.

    About 70,000 years ago, most humans on the planet perished due to climate change, volcanic dust in the atmosphere, causing severe planet cooling and crop loss.

    The theory of global warming (AGW) says that as CO2 levels rise, the earth will warm. This has not been the case for the last decade or so. CO2 has continued to rise (much of the rise has been positively linked to Al Gore's excessive use of energy) and yet the temp has shown a decreasing trend. This does not mean it can not go back up, but it does seem to support the idea that we are not the cause of all the earth's ill's.

    its both - but warming is winning the battle. Pollution from a car example gives of CO2 and particles. More CO2 but enough particles to "bind" with the water molecules in the clouds to reflect the suns rays back into space. This cooling effect protects us - if the dirt was removed global warming WOULD BE HAPPENING NOW

    Global warming gases trapped in the soil are bubbling out of the thawing permafrost in amounts far higher than previously thought and may trigger what researchers warn is a climate time bomb.

    The current concensus among scientists who are "experts" is that the current situation is global warming (although it is interesting that not fifty years ago the concensus was global cooling). My personal philosophy is that it really doesn't matter, we should respect our earth, whether it be overfishing or spilling pollution into our air.

    Well it is both. the "new" term for it is Climate Change because many climates are changing but not all are getting hotter. It was called global warming because the ice caps were melting but it cause cooling in other places so the most proper term for it is climate change. hope this helps:)
