I find that Meyer's writing style has improved greatly and I think that's what makes The Host "better" than Twilight in the literary sense, if you really wanted to look at it like that...Both books were phenomenal, of course! If you asked me to choose, I'd have to say Twilight just because the series is so ridiculously addicting...but The Host deals with a lot of truly mind-boggling issues and when you finish the book you're left feeling completely moved, inspired, touched...The Host is an "adult novel" so that's probably why it explores a lot more issues at an in-depth capacity. The characters, I think, are more complicated Both books are amazing, though!

They were very compelling in their own way. Right after reading it, I admitted that the Host might have been better than Twilight. It still might. It was VERY compelling and the story is just so beautiful I can't explain it. It hooked me from page one.
They are two very different series that are captivating for totally different reasons and are in two different...genres... I'm not even sure if they have a genre. haha. They are in and of themselves. I love them both.

i have to say twilight is better than the host but the host was such a great book.
they were both good in a very different way.
i like how they both have to do with things such as vampires or seekers and such but somehow end up to also be a love story

i love both books and found a few similarities in them.
Bella/Wanda: both trying to be self sacrificing. Bella like the third wife, Wanda with the removing herself from Melanie.
Both care for others much more:
Bella wants to do whats best for Jacob, her dad, mom,
Both didn't fit in with their own kind:
Bella didn't fit in with humans, she fit in with Vampires and Werewolves.
Wanda didn't fit in with souls she fit in with humans
Edward and Jared:
both handsome
both restricted to the one they love
Both strong and the best at most
Jacob and Ian
both love a person who doesn't love them as much
both trying to protect that person and show them they love them too.

I liked both, but I preferred Twilight because while I love sci-fi and fantasy, I like when it's intertwined with reality. The Host was completely sci-fi (well almost) and I don't read Stephenie Myer for that, I read for her characters. I just love Edward much more than Ian, lol.

well you cant compare them, they arent the same basis and plot. But i didnt even bother to read the host although a lot of people love it. So i guess you really wouldnt know unless you read it yourself
