Was wondering which you'd recommend..?

Eagle Pack or Timberwolf...? It's for 4 Staffies & a setter X... 2 Staffies (6yr old & 20mth old) need weight loss/ joint care, 3 just need feeding!! Lol!!

They range from 6-1years....

Thank you!!

Update:

Am in Ireland so it's very tough to get anything except Royal Canine, Eukanuba or Hills.... There is one site that has a reasonable selection, but are still limited varieties of the 2 i mentioned & sold out of Solid Gold!!

Update 2:

Mine are healthy, happy & well cared for, we've never fed them 'top brand' cos when it comes to owning 5 dogs, or them being dead cos 3 are rescues, i'd prefer them alive!! Lol!!

They definately are my 'luxery item', we don't holiday etc, cos their insurance, vets bills, wormer, food, pet fencing etc all comes first...

Personally i've found the brands we do feed, you feed more than the more expensive ones.... The 2 i mentioned are more natural, feed less, yet are less expensive than Hills!!

It will take an enormous chunk out of an already stupidly tight budget, but i feel at least for the 2 over weight ones, i need to find an alternative!!

Update 3:

ADD: Judge, sadly can't find either of those brands over here either, or at least no where near me..... :(

I just know that i am going to get a mass of 'Thumbs Down' for this, but here goes.

For every healthy dog fed by a caring owner on the very best complete dog foods at £46 a sack there are probably 50 just as healthy dogs owned by people with little spare cash who feed their dogs on cheap supermarket brands. ANY widely sold food marketed as a 'Complete' food will be just that! It will contain what a dog needs (think about it, if it was not, the makers would have so many law suits against them they would be out of business in weeks!)

So many 'doggy' people seem to lose sight of the fact that their beloved pets are animals not human beings and their digestive functions are far more robust and forgiving than ours! It is a total nonsense to think that unless you are paying 'top dollar' as they say, you are short changing your dog!

We have had dogs for 40 years, none have ever been fed on premium foods, ALL have been full of vigour, with sparking eyes and healthy coats and lived to a good age, the only times we have ever needed the vet has been at booster shot time.

There are so many things the link on the first post does not take into account I won't even list them all, but a few are that rating system does not take into account where the products come from...ie China or not, it does not take into account ...is the product made in a mass producing plant like Diamond or Menu Foods. I would personally never use a dog food that is made by one of these companies since if one food is contaminated it can cross contaminate the others. You would be surprised at how many super premium foods are manufactured by these two companies right alongside the cheapest worst food on the market.

You should do your research and look for quality ingredients from America our Brazil (for the lamb), but also look for companies like Canidae and Flint River Ranch who manufacture their own foods and no others to limit any risk of cross contamination like what happened 2 yrs ago and killed thousands of dogs.

I have not looked up your foods, but here are two websites that are reputable (not just some person at home that made up a rating scale) One shows the analysis of foods, I am sure yours are listed...the other shows who really makes their foods and if any are made by Menu Foods

    http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/

    http://www.thepetfoodlist.com/

on the 2nd one, scroll down and click the first letter of the food you are interested in. After thousands of hours of research into dog nutrition I fed a homemade diet or Canidae. I found that the 2 foods you are choosing from are good foods.

The very high protein foods are very high in calories also so it will be harder for them to lose weight on them. You may want to consider picking a 5 star food. Still high in calories and protein, but not quite as high as the 6 star food

well the post on here says it all really (tut tut) all dog food irrelevant of what the company's say is mass produced even the best . personally royal canine is the best i feel however it is expensive you can mix and feed your own (chicken, rice.vegetable's etc) however very time consuming and not always accurate try James wellbeloved if you can get it or atakki may be available over there
