help on copyright or plagiarizing?

here it is. i'm planning to use lyric of a new song into my artwork. which later i will enter it into an art contest/ competition. so is it plagiarizing?

Update:

the lyric would be in the background and partially covered by others things. it just like the description for the work.

or maybe i just forget about use the lyric because it isn't worth time for me to look for the information in the copyright website.

Unless it is for a specific school project, and you won't win any cash for it, it CAN be plagarism.

Here is the official government copyright office site. It has all the info on what is copyright infringement and what is "fair use."

Just credit the song in your description.

I'm not sure, but if you do just put the lyric in quotes.
