Is the sound card in my laptop something that can be replaced myself, or do you think ill have to send it away

I think my sound card went bad somehow in my Dell laptop. It started making this crackling sound one day, and then it stopped making sound all together. Is that something is easy to fix myself you think? Or do you think I have to send it away to have repaired? If so where would I have to send it and how much do you think it'll cost?

its not hard to put in a sound card you just have to open the computer up take out the card and put in a new one pretty simple. Just make sure your not standing or sitting on carpet when you do it because you don't want to have static electricity in you when you open your computer it can cause problems.
