Any car repo guys or private investigators out there?

My ex wife stole my Honda CRV from our former home in Ft Worth, Tx. She left me for her old boyfriend in Encinitas, Ca. She's there or around there now. The problem is the FWPD won't enter the car as stolen despite the family law judge ordering it. Sort of a pissing match between the DA's office and the court. Meanwhile I am screwed. I can't get an insurance claim or any law enforcement without the stolen vehicle report. The car is titled in my name alone and is separate property. Anyone out there have any thoughts on how to recover this car?

Update:

Thanks for the answers, but I need to clarify. She has the car hidden most of the time. Garaged at night, stored at different places like a shell game. She knows I'm after it so she's staying off the radar. If I could grab it I would. Plus, I'm in Texas!

Titled in your name only? Good.

Do you know where the car is? if so just get the spare key and take it or talk to a local tow operator.

if you don't know exactly where it is then a quiet chat with a friendly cop and a bottle of scotch will go a long way towards finding it.

I am with curious on this one. Just go around there and get it.

If it's in your name then it is yours. Make sure you take proof of ownership with you because the bi*tch will call the coppers on you.
