Now that we know it is McCain vs Obama who should they pick as thier running mates?
I think McCain needs a strong conservative and Obama needs someone with a lot more experience.

McCain should pick Michael Huckabee because Huckabee brings in the conservatives and the Christian Coalition, both groups that McCain needs to win. Also a lot could be said about Romney, but I think Huckabee would be a better choice because he appeals to America's heartland. Obama has three choices - John Edwards, Joe Biden, or Michael Richardson. Out of the three, I would pick Richardson because of his cabinet experience and he appeals to the hispanic voters, a group Obama needs to win over in order to be US President. As far as Hillary Clinton, I don't see her as being picked although she would bring in the working class, the feminist, and her hubby Bill Clinton into the fold.

For McCain, I think either Romney or Huckabee. Romney would do well with his economic reputation. He also is more conservative (I agree with your assessments, btw).
For Obama, picking Clinton would help to keep some votes that would otherwise shift to McCain. However, I don't know if the things in the past 6 months can be forgotten to make that ticket work. Bill Richardson might be a good choice for his foreign affairs experience... that is the one area that Obama really seems to be lacking.

I think you got it completely backwards.
Why should McCain pick one of those neocon morons who made his life so miserable? He should pick a sensible moderate. Better yet, why not a liberal. Colin Powell would be a good choice, if he weren't endorsing Obama later this week.
Why should Obama pick someone who helped create the problems we have in Washington? That's all your so-called experience is. Anyone who has been in Washington more than 4 years becomes part of the problem, not the solution. Jim Webb would be a good choice, or maybe someone who has never served in Washington at all, like Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

I don't know about Obama, but McCain needs to pick someone that will help overcome perceptions that he's too old, too liberal, and mentally unstable.
He needs Robert Byrd.
Standing next to Robert Byrd, McCain looks like a young conservative genius.

I think you nailed it, in both cases...I would also hope that McCain gets someone with some economic expertise and someone younger than him...for Obama ...I hope he picks Satan so he can have someone just like him.

I think Colin Powell would be a great running mate for Obama. He's already said that just because he's a republican doesn't mean that he'll support McCain. An Obama-Powell ticket would be great.
