Which food is best for Staffies....?
Hi i asked this question a couple of days ago, but only got a couple of replies & was hoping to get some responces from peoples own experiences with them...
Was trying to choose between Timberwolf, Solid Gold or Eagle Pack......
I have 4 Staffies & a Setter X... 2 Staffies (6yr old & 20mth) need weight loss, the others just need a meal everyday!! Lol!!
The 2 that need weight loss, 6yr old has joint problems, 20mth old does too from being hit by a car.
I live in Ireland so very few options on food, found these on zooplus...
Thank you in advance!!

~ These are all good, but I'm assuming when you say Eagle Pack that you mean Eagle Pack Holistic since regular Eagle Pack is not a quality food.
If it were me out of those options I would start out with Timberwolf and see how the dogs handled it.
When you put them on the food, feed on a schedule 2 times a day. The dog that needs to lose weight feed them for how much it says, at the weight you want your dog to be not the weight your dog is.
So if you dog is 50 pounds and he should weigh 40 pounds then feed your dog per the measurements of a 40 pound dog. Also, remember to change your dogs food slowly from what they have been eating otherwise they could have loose stool and gas.

i feed my mastiff and rhodesian ridgeback solid gold. i like the food and it has never been in any of the recalls. my dogs do wonderful on it, and the have the best coats. timberwolf is good from what i here, i have never tried it though. eagle pack is better than some of the foods on the market, but not in my top ten dog foods. good luck choosing a food, if possible try a small bag [ or sample if possible ] to see if the dogs will even eat it first before buying a big bag.

ive looked into better quality foods also via zoo plus the only thing that put me off buying these foods over the internet is that if zooplus run out of stock or cannot get it for whatever reason you are stuck finding the food locally if you run out or low until zooplus can get in the stock.
its just something to think about

I looked it up and didn't like the ingredients in Eagle Pack as much. Timberwolf has the higher amount of protein and fat compare to solid gold. I'd say go with Solid gold until the over weight dogs are at the normal weights, a few months. then you can change them all to timberwolf which has the best ingredients to me.
