The electoral college and voting date was design to benefit farmers. The date of first full week Tuesday in November was set after the harvest.

The voting day should be moved to a Friday/Saturday schedule to allow a workday/weekend day to vote.

The state base electoral college is design to help tally votes at the expense of the totality of the popular vote.

We should have system that could count all votes. The popular vote should be the measure for Presidential election. This would force all candidates campaign in all states and not writing off some smaller states.

The system will be changed someday but for now the politic ans like this system as there is so many loop holes

most people hate the electoral college because a candidate could win the popular vote but lose if the electoral college votes against them..

there is much voter fraud and some people in cemeteries have voted after they been dead for many years..

Yes it is flawed but in any system their is chance for fraud.

    only minor problems.

The electoral college is a good thing, if we did away with it, some well placed carpet bagger could come into a very populated state, say N.Y., funnel millions in pork and earmarks, and literally buy the election. Typically corrupt politician.

No paper trail in most states is one big one. No record of the actual vote if a re-count was ever needed.

yes. the system doesn't require even a basic knowledge of the candidates.

Yes it's a total sham: our options are way too limited, our elections are tampered with, campaign finance is corrupt, WE NEED MORE THAN 2 PARTIES

  • 1 decade ago

there is only 2 parties ... no term limits on congress or senate .
