Vizio 42" plasma, is this a good brand?
I've been pricing plasma and lcd tv's and have found that the Vizio is the cheapest. Is this a good brand? If it's not, any one have any suggestions as to what brand I should look into? I want to spend no more than $800/$900 and would like to stay in the 42" range. Thanks.

I know this isn't what you WANT to hear, but Vizio is a third tier, disposable, junk TV, plasma or LCD. See, http://www.hdguru.com/your-new-disposable-flat-pan...
In a 42" HDTV, the VERY BEST you can get, dollar for dollar, in performance AND reliability, is a Panasonic 720p/1080i plasma like the TH-42PX75U or TH-42PZ80U. If you decide to go with a 40"-42" LCD, look at Sony and Toshiba. Stay away from the cheapies! Any money you save will be in the short run, only.

I have always heard that Vizio were decent TVs. But in the price range you are looking for, you aren't going to get anything too spectacular.

Go with SAMSUNG or SONY you will not be disappointed. I learned the hard way with VIZIO.
