How does the Pope hear God's word better than everyone else?

He is supposed to be more spiritual than regular believers, how is this possible?

If you are catholic you are brain washed to believe and to question is enough to go to Hell. He may have spent a life time learning the scripture and interprets it's meaning. This still doesn't make him the only one who hears God's word. His interpretation is turned into Catholic law.

    Because he is the pope.

Since the world ticks to God's plan then it must be in his plan that the pope is the pope. Surely he would pick the one that is best suited for the position of listening to Him and carrying out His plan.

For the popes of old, I'm sure the ones that had kids, sold indulgences and generally treated the position and religion as political commodity for their own advancement and pleasure, were all carrying out God's Plan.

Speaking as a non-catholic, I would say that he doesn't hear better than anyone else. He is the figure head of the Catholic Church. I've never understood the worship of him, but I don't condemn catholics. If your faith is in the pope and not Jesus Christ, you will be in for a rude awakening.

The magical conductor inside the hat has excellent reception. :P

Seriously, its just God's way. Someone has to interprete Scripture and Tradition. If it were left to everybody, there would be mass confusion. Kinda like the oxymoron: protestant doctrine. :P

It's not! Years of study....education...political power. These things don't help you get closer to God, and everyone has equal chance to get to know him. His title alone, doesn't gicen him special spiritual powers. That would be ridiculous.

He doesn't. Jesus died that we all could have equal access to the Father. We don't need to go an earthly Priest to confess our sin, we now have a High Priest, Jesus Christ who we can go to on our own and confess our sin and ask for forgiveness.

He has a special telephone at the vatican.

Seriously, I personally don't believe it. I think anyone can hear God if they just stop and listen.

He probably knows the Bible off by heart, all of Jesus' parables and knows right from wrong.

The Pope can resolve bitterness unlike most people.
