Question Regarding Power inverter 12V to 110V 900 watts for Installing DVDplayer and TV on my CAR !!!?
So i have some questions regarding the instalation of a
12V DC to 110V AC 900 WATTS Power Inverter on my car.
900 watts continuos power
1800 watts peak power
provides 7.5 amps
The battery of my car is a 12V 1000 AMPS 135 min.
so here are the questions:
a) lets say I install de power inverter to my battery, TURN OFF the car and plug the equivalent of 900watts (Ex. 10 x 90watts 110 volt bulbs) to the inverter how long will it take to drain the battery ? how can i calculate this. will it last 135 min ?
b) Same question with the car ON. (so the battery is constantly charged by the alternator).
c) what does it mean 1800 watts peak power ? the unit produces 900 watts so why it says 1800 peak ?
d) lets say i get rid of the battery and plug the inverter directly to the alternator... will the unit light the 10 bulbs constantly while the alternator is working?
e) if I use two batteries parallel will the unit work 135min X 2 ? if I use them in series ? whats the difference

a) Using a fresh battery the 1000amps/135min may be acceptable. If 3yr or older I doubt this is true anymore.
Power in = Power out ,12V @1000Amps (12000Watt) = 110V (115V) @ 900Watts + pwr loss (100watts to convert) = 1000Watts should provide power for the 135min, but again depending on Goodness of battery based on age.
b) Car running, the charging circuit typically provides 85Amps - 115Amp based on continuous duty of Alternator.
Therefore: say 100Amps -> 1200Watts = 9Amps @ 120V. w Pwr Loss considered.
c) 1800Watts peak is usually a short duration load, typically for a minute. The Inverter will shut down, but will audible alarm before that happens.
d) Don't do this, the aternator must be able to handle load directly and unless it's designed for such will not provide sufficient output. Usually, 100Amp (1200Watts). May need to get a heavy duty Alternator 150Amps (1800Watts).
e) Parrallel batteries would provide initial power capability, but the Alternator must be able to replinish the power drawn out. This would help for the first 135min - 200min of use.
e2) Series provides 2x12V = 24V, depends on the Inverter. Can it work from a 24V source?
Suggest using a Marine type battery which can handle long duration loads, but they don't like to provide high power draws like that of starting a car, which is typically 250A - 350A in a burst of a couple seconds.
Charging a Marine battery is best at slow rate. Need to determine what the Amps/hour rate is, this is limit not to exceed either loading or charging.

You get everlasting job of a soldier and extra promotions in devil's militia. long term effect is-----you won't manage to connect the club of angels. it relatively is glaring that your choose/interests/thoughts take shape like a devil once you connect the corrupt forces.
