The game's genetics work on an "average of the two" basis. Go to C:\Program Files\Virtual Villagers 3 (or wherever you installed the game) and open the Images folder. Find the Female Heads and Male Heads pictures and open them, lining them up so they're even. Let's say you breed Female Head 2 with Male Head 6. The average of these is Head 4 (either male or female). You are most likely to get a child with Head 4 from these parents. It is not guaranteed, and you might get Heads 2, 3, 5, or 6 as well... Head 4 is just the most likely outcome. However, every once in a while the game is programmed to help you diversify your tribe, and will give a random result.
