Could I be pregnant again?
I'm 2 weeks late for my period and have taken a test which says negative. I have 14 month old triplets and a 3 month old already. My friend (who is a midwife) told me that each time you fall pregnant it increases your chances of getting pregnant again quickly. I do use protection tho. Is it possible that by having two pregnancies so close together I have messed up my mentstrual cycle?
ok for anyone who is saying that i should be careful - my husband and I use condoms everytime we have sex but I don't want to take the pill while I am breastfeeding.
And yes I have a husband and a full time job which I am on maternity leave from
And no I am not part rabbit - HOW DARE YOU!
And I am caring for all of my children at the moment while on maternity leave but when I go back to work (to earn the money to look after them) they will go to a nursery

yes I am sure of this. Are you and your mate part rabbit?
You should know better and take more precautions. You are already pushing it with 4 little ones. Who takes care of them?
Where is your man? Do you want another one? Where is your family?
I would get the new coil things inserted, my daughter did it yesterday

I can't believe how judgemental some of the other answers have been so far, especially the one who said "who looks after them, where is your partner" and the one who told you you should be more careful! For all they know you could be a lottery winner who will never have to work again, and you and your devoted husband could be planning to stay at home and raise at least 10!
Besides, it's hardly your fault that you had triplets, two pregnancies does not make a person "part rabbit"!
I agree with the posters who have said "not pregnant" - it is POSSIBLE, but if you have been using protection and you have had a negative test I would say it's very unlikely.
It is most likely to be a hormonal reason, your body could take time to settle back into a routine after two pregnancies, and lots of people who breastfeed find that their periods stop.
Also, you say you have been using protection - if this means you have just gone back on hormones such as the pill, injections, implant or mirena coil then your cycle might take time to readjust.
Have you been trying to lose your baby weight? Sudden weight changes can stop your periods, but they will come back if you take it easy or when you reach your normal equilibrium.
Another major cause for missed periods is stress, which with four babies under two is pretty much guaranteed! (Not to mention extra stress from rude YA posters.)
I wouldn't worry, but it might be worth seeing your doctor if it continues as there are other more serious causes that you might want to rule out, like ectopic pregnancy or STDs.
You could also ask your midwife friend for advice!!
Good luck.

you could be under stress. Sometimes stress can make your period late. But I would advice you to take a pregnancy test again it may have been to early to detect if you are pregnant are not. I have three children my self. On my second child I took a pregnancy test and it said negative but then I made a trip to the doctor to get on birth control and then the doctor was like you do not need birth control you are pregnant. It also seems that you are very fertile too. So, take another test and good luck weather you are pregnant are not. You have a lot on your plate. take care

There are other reasons for a non-show on a period aside from pregnancy. These include stress (triplets and a new baby must be pretty stressful) and sudden weight loss (have you been crash dieting?)
As the test says you are not (and most can tell you from the day your period is due), and you have been using protection then it seem unlikely you are pregnant again.
The poster above me has given you an excellent answer so there is no point me reiterating all she has said - give her best answer :)

Wow, congrats on all four kiddies, must be hard for you!
Your test may have been taken to soon. Try taking another one but this time take First Response this will detect pregnancy hormones from early on.
Good Luck.

Ah, everyone is being so mean to you. Of course you could be pregnant once you've had sex but I always thought breast feeding messed up your periods too. Good luck either way, you must be a fab mum to cope with all you have already

If he doesn't opt to have a toddler do not enable him have unprotected sex with you, it truly is so undemanding as that! If after this you do discover you're pregnant do not have an abortion, he knew the hazards, if he's not waiting he do not have performed what he did. Simples.

You could be but you should see your doc, as it's odd you haven't had a positive test result yet after two weeks. It could be, as you say, your body readjusting itself after your recent pregnancy. I would definitely go and see the doc and get a blood test to be sure.
