Is it wrong for 90% of African-Americans to vote for Obama?

Is it wrong that 90% of African-Americans are supporting Obama for President? Does it signify some sort of racism on their part that they support one candidate so overwhelmingly?

If you believe that it is wrong, then did you think African-American voters were being racist when 90% of them voted for Al Gore and John Kerry in 2000 and 2004?

To my understanding black people have almost always voted Democratic, and it was always white people running, so no, they aren't racist, but vote for what is best for poorer folks. Since poorer folks are an ever increasing number of Americans, the Democratic Obama should get all of their votes, black, white, tan, or any color. Anyone who is concerned about the economy and doesn't vote for him is letting their racism affect their brother and sister Americans, along with themselves, in a very negative way. The families of soldiers killed and the homeless and hungry will be able to accuse them of racism and hatred toward their fellow Americans, never mind gas at 12 or more dollars a gallon in four more years. What a shame racism has caused.

Yes, 92% speaks for itself! Some of those voters are voting on color alone and that is wrong. How come there is 5 times the number registered African Americans registered to vote this year than in all past elections?

Of course it's partially based on race.

It's called Identity Politics and nearly everyone does it, whether they are aware of it or not. Almost every Christian I know say they wouldn't vote for a non-Christian, no matter what his personal morals and qualifications were. So is it wrong to vote for the Christian just because he's a Christian and you can identify with his upbringing and values? How is it different? It's the same reason why whites tend to vote for whites, men for men, and women for women, southerners for southerners, etc.

Anyway, my understanding is that the vast majority of African-Americans are dems anyway, so they would probably be voting for him in large numbers, even if he was white (like they did with Bill Clinton, for example).

At minimum it would be Odd, whether or not it is wrong would probably be decided by an investigation if warranted. I can remember that there were a couple thousand dead democrats voting.

Seriously I doubt that anyone will care how the Black Americans

will vote because Obama isn't going to win.

I used to think so when they voted against Hillary but after much thought, I can kind of understand why they would vote for him. For so long, they didn't have anyone who can be a champion for them. I understand the underlying racism that exists in this country. People don't express it as openly b/c of political correctness but you know when someone does not like you b/c of the color of your skin.

If he's truely getting 90% then yeah it's most likely racism. The funny part is Obama is not even 50% African-American, he's only something like 6%, the other 44% on his fathers side is Arab. But since he "looks" black people are running with it. It's wrong that "looks" are used to a fault these days.

I thinnk racism is ingrained in human nature. Human beings developed as social beings where people of the same tribe helped each other and were at war with others. Since people of your own tribe and country tend to be of the same race, there is a preference to trust people of the same race. So, anyone who says they prefer people of their own race are telling the truth. However, it has become politically incorrect for white people to say this, due to legacy of slavery in US and genocide against jews in europe. On the other hand other races accept it with ot problems. La Raza, the hispanic advocacy group, literally means THE RACE. Blacks have no problems in voting for Obama in huge numbers and accept that they are doing it coz hes black. Yes they prefer a person of their own race and THEIR IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, ITS NATURAL. However, Obama is wrong for America. So that means, blacks will vote for a person who is wrong for America, but of their own race. That shows how strong the pull of race is. PS: I am neither black nor white, nor and american, just an interseted observer.

It's wrong if they are voting based on skin color with Al Gore or John Kerry color was not an issue....

Best way to answer would be to pose the following! What if 90% of the caucasian vote went to McCain would that be considered racism. The answer to both scenarios is yes!

I don't believe it is wrong. Let the people vote for whoever they want. This sn't rocket science, every little thing doesn't need to be examined over and over just because there is no other news. People seriously need to relax.

African-Americans are typically more poor than others, so of course they will vote Democrat more than Republican, even though I think Democrats actually hurt the poor more.
