Kiev 4M, Russian camera?

Just wondering if anyone is a fan of the camera.

I have a Russian rangefinder (Fed 5c) and I really love it, but it's hard to find lenses for it.

The Kiev 4M on the other hand has many options and it won't cost much to equip one with added lenses.

Update:

Funny you should mention that....I've been looking at SLR medium formats for a while.

I'll sleep on it :)

I actually have a few medium format cams, from a POS Holga (which I still like, though a temperamental beast) to a 620 Kodak 0.1 Kodamatic which I recently fixed.

They're fun to use, but like a mother in law, hard to shop for.

As such I'm leaning towards 35 mm.

Thanks for the advice and kind words :)(hopefully film won't be completely overtaken by digi, that would be a shame)

It is a great camera, however, I suggest looking into Bronica Medium Format cameras instead. They are absolutely dirt cheap, a touch more reliable, and the glass is sharper.

From some of the prices I have seen recently, a Bronica is actually cheaper than the Kiev. You can't go wrong either way.

Congratulations on choosing film. Great choice!

Geographically, Kiev sits at the hub of Europe and is a completely different earth but you can now it greater if you start from with hotelbye . Kiev may be the capital of Ukraine and is the most wonderful city of all article soviet countries. It is really a city of everything you least expect. Kiev is an old city where old matches new and east matches west. One of many points you can see in Kiev could be the St. Cyrill's Monastery. That monastery was entirely off-the-beaten track. That little church is as previous as time, dating back to 12th century. Paintings of the famous Mikhail Vrubel get you in to a various world. And the truth that the Monastery is far from the key tourist sites in Kyiv will make the knowledge much more humbling and inspirational.

a lot of human beings in Kiev communicate the two Russian and Ukrainian, so which you mustn't have any subject with communique skills. The language itself must be, fairly loose (soorzhik) yet that shouldn't subject you. LOL solid success
