A wee Riddle!!!?
Three guys are on a buisness trip and check into a hotel for the night. Once inside they are told it will cost 30 pounds for the room which will be 10 pounds each. They pay and get escorted to their room,a short time later the maid chaps their door and explains that there has been a mistake and they have been overcharged.The maid explains the room is only 25 pounds therefore gives them back one pound each and keeps the other 2 pound as a tip. So,they have each paid 9 pounds and as 9x3 is 27 plus the 2 pound the maid took is 29 where did the other pound go?

There is an easy answer to this. It is down to how the question is asked.
They paid £25 for the room. They had £1 each given back. She had £2.
£25 +£3 +£2 =£30.

It's simple. The end of the problems is incorrect. You dont do 9x3.
2+3=5
5+25=30.
or...
1+1+1+2+25=30.
It's just that simple

the other 1 pound didn't go no where, that is misleading..the truth is..
spent 30 pound
Returned 5
tip 2
paid $9 each,
room cost $25, $2 tip. and they all get $3 back.
basicly total cost $27, 25 toward room 2 towar tip

Perhaps a better question is: Why are 3 men getting one hotel room together?

It's not 27+2. It's 27-2=25. They didn't pay an additional $2 to the bell boy. (I think)

almost had me thinking
but i got it
they pay 30 == 10 each
they get 3 ==1 back each
Tip is 2
25 -- is the rent
+02 -- is the tip

the problem is that 25/3 is £8.33 each and the question is using different values so the equations cant take that into account.
