    Yes and No.....

If you have more than 2 people in one cabin.....the 3rd and 4th passenger residing in that SAME cabin will pay a discounted cruise fare.

However, say its only 2 people in a cabin.....a mother and 8 year old daughter.......they will both pay the exact same rate, regardless of age.

The only exception to that rule is if when cruiselines rarely run a special for kids sailing free or at a discount rate if u book during a certain time frame........Norwegian just ran such a promotion in May for a 3 night Bahama cruise in Sept. out of Miami where kids could sail for "free" (although still pay port charges, taxes and fuel charges....just not the cruise fare).

also, MSC a european cruiseline always lets kids sail for free.......(a word of caution: although cheap, not all americans enjoy their cruising experience on MSC.......)

Source(s): sis just did a ncl cruise with the 'free sail' special for kids...

No, you usually pay the same price for children as adults for cruise fares.

Some cruise lines off reduced rates for 3rd and 4th person in a cabin and if the children are staying the same cabin as the adults, then you get a minor price break.

We had to pay full fare for our 18 month old niece that was traveling with us on Carnival.

Also note, the cruise lines expect you to extend the same amount of gratuties from the minor guests as the adults....

So for a family of four traveling on a 7-day cruise, the tips would be 4 x $70 = $280. If the minor child is under 24 months, then be sure to ask the purser to remove the gratuties from your account.

Carnival says guests under 24 months are not asked to extend gratuties but you have to go to the purser's office and specifically ask for the gratuties to be removed from the account.

The fuel supplement will also be charged to the minor guests.

The best thing to do is ring a travel agent or the cruise line booking agent and make sure they give you all of the fees up front.

If your children are staying in the same room as two adults, there would be a reduced rate for them as the 3rd, 4th, etc.. person sharing the cabin. MSC offers free cruises (except for taxes and misc. fees) for all children 17 and under, sharing a cabin with two adults. Hope this helps.

Yes I think so. The first two guests are the same price, but the third guess is cheaper. But some cruise lines might ask the age and give you a discount or something...

The third or fourth person is almost always cheaper weather it is a kid or an adult if you are all in the same cabin. I do not know of any cruise that has kids are free deals.
