Have you ever put on a fake persona just to be popular?

Hi, don't try to be popular, or it will haunt you later in life. I tried and I was failing all my classes that I usually got A's on. I didn't study because I spend all my time going out with them at night. My parents soon found this out and they was furious with me. So I was grounded for a full night. When my popular friends didn't see me at the movies that night, they turned on me a left me out and started horrible rumors about me. My life was a complete mess no one was satisfied with me. For example, my old friends, my parents, the popular kids and my teachers! Like you, I had to catch up later in life. That's why its not good to be popular, be yourself!

No, I think if people don't like me it's their problem! Since when is being that type of popular a good thing?lol. I say if they don't like you as you are, tough sh*t for them! It's not worth compromising who you are, what you stand for, or your life goals especially! And I was y no means *unpopular*, I simply saw it as i had a few friends from all walks of life and I loved it that way:) Keep your head up!

No. And I would never fake someone to become popular. Cause to me people who are popular are just jerks sometimes and then at my school you have to be rich to be popular. And I middle class so I'm out.

The only time I ever put on a fake persona was when I needed to be happy and comfortable around a family member who was dying. I smiled and joked and was happy with them and they were comfortable in their last days.

Sadly, yes......I used to be a great student, getting A's in everything. But I wasn't at all popular....people called me names and made fun of me. This past year though, I've changed my personality at school just to fit in. I started to not play by the rules, get low marks, change my clothes, my hair, wear make-up......things I would normally never thought of doing. But it's never good to change who you are as a person just to fit in; trust me, I know.

I would never pretend to be someone I'm not. Someday the people who didn't like you will realize that the smart kids were the actual popular ones.

Well I have never done that before but all you have to do is be yourself. I have really good grades. I am not a geek and popular kids talk to me everyday. Just be yourself. That's how I became popular.

You should not have to be fake to be popular, if people don't like you for who you are then you do not want to be around them. Don't try to be like your brothers, just be yourself.
