1 AnswerWords & Wordplay1 decade agoIf I mispronounced your name?
Like, I have difficulty pronouncing foreign names, but the labour hire people that come through seem to be OK with it, and often have a laugh at my expense. I've actually given them nicknames, like wheelbarrow, (needs one to carry his signature), alphabet, (has all the letters in his name) and they seem to enjoy the camaraderie it brings. Mindful, these people have only been in Australia a short time and seem to relish the fact thay're being accepted and being given a nickname as all Australians have one. What do you think?

6 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoHave you ever put on a fake persona just to be popular?
For example, I was a great student and was unpopular. My brothers were rebels and were heroes. So I threw away an academic career basically to be popular and had to catch up in night school later on in life.
37 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoTo the Americans? What's the thing that sticks in your mind most about Australia?
Tell me the truth, no matter how ridiculous it seems, it may be true. We have a very strange country with many strange animals and a strange culture. It may not be strange to me, but to others I heard that what I think is normal makes people from overseas goggle in awe.
