Transfer data between computers?

I recently bought a new computer, (old one bust) and i want to transfer files etc, to the new one. But, the CD drive isn't working in the old one and I can't copy anything onto disc. Is there another way, thank you.

Update:

It's an old computer with XP to a new computer with Vista, no bluetooth.

Do you have a firewire outlet on each? Bluetooth? USB connect between computers or to external hard drive (slower than firewire). If all else fails, upload the files to a server site (.mac has 1 but you're prolly not on a mac) then download onto your new comp or email files to yourself.

    Summary:

    - firewire (cable - fastest)

    - USB plug to other comp or hard drive (cable)

    - bluetooth (wireless)

    - upload to server, download to new comp

    - email to self

just get a 1 or 2 gigabite flash drive and insert it in a USB port and drag the file on and move it to the other computer and drag them off or copy them and keep them on the drive as a backup until you can burn them to a disk or an external hard drive. Easy as pie. And cheapest way to go.
