Fleas and week old puppies?
So, my dog had puppies a week ago. My dog is on advantix and for some reason, the puppies have fleas. I know all flea products are not for puppies 6 weeks or younger. I called my vet and they advised me that the only thing I can do for right now is to give them a bath. So, is there anything else I can do? Does anyone have any secret remedies? I don't want my puppies to have fleas. Would you give them a bath at this age and if so, what type of soap would you use??? All answers appreciated.
They are kept inside and flea shampoo shouldn't be used on 1 week old puppies.

This happens and can harm or even kill tiny little guys like these. The best remedy to prevent harming them is to keep giving them baths with a soap like Palmolive. Then taking a fine toothed comb and comb their hair to remove the fleas. This will need to be repeated over and over until the fleas are gone. Make sure to treat their bedding and find out the source of the fleas. The source could be Mom because Advantix does not kill fleas it just makes them hop off after a few minutes. Am betting she is going to need to be washed also and with flea soap. Make sure to rinse her really well so the pups don't eat the residue of the soap. Then go spray the yard for fleas/ticks. Its always more than one step in treating this problem

You called the Vet and now you are asking a bunch of people on the internet? Do what the vet said, but just be sure to keep them warm. The female (mother) (can you believe yahoo filters out the correct term?) needs a bath too (with flea shampoo). Then change the bedding and clean around where they are living. If you have them in your house, you will need to move them out, spray with flea spray or use a flea bomb. You can move them back in after the time on the can, usually about 4-5 hours.

Are the puppies inside or outside?
Give them a bath. Just be careful and dry them off completely.

maximum flee shampoos you may desire to attend until they are 12 weeks of age. And most of the Frontline, income, and Advantix products the domestic dog must be a minimum of 8 weeks of age. i might have somebody come spray the exterior of your residing house for fleas and around your backyard and premises. on the different hand, you could bathe your domestic dog in first gentle dishwashing liquid. it somewhat is thoroughly risk-free. in basic terms ensure you wash the canine from the neck down and to no longer get any into the eyes. i don't be attentive to why persons are dissing on human beings for finding out to purchase a domestic dog at 6 weeks, it somewhat is while they are weaned and able to pass. it somewhat is once I have been given my German Shepherd and he did in basic terms superb and is superb now. he's slept interior the mattress with me from day one and nonetheless does it to this present day. there is no longer something incorrect with having a domestic dog at 6 weeks.
