NOT BLACK!!!!!!!!!!! Its SUMMER!!!!!! For God's sake! Colour is good! Just stay clear of really short skirts, hoodies, white trainers, caps etc.
Remember wear fitted. Wear prints, use belts for accessories. You could probably wear jeans, but they have to be well fitted, perhaps with a dress. Wear heels, if you don't want to, then wear flats.

An idea of where your working would help you don't want to be wearing a smart dress if your working on a cattle farm or wearing trackie bottoms and t-shirt if your in an office
some black trouses and a blazer are always good to wear after that you can wear any top you like within reason

They know your not 50+ so there not expecting you to come in as such!
Id wear some black skinny jeans, black pumps and a nice top with a cardigan.
Smart/Casual and the children won't think of you as some old farty teacher, and you'll be popular haha.
Also, do you want to get **** all over nice new things? No.
So wear easily washable (YE) clothing thats comfortable, yet tidy.

Clean and classic is the way to go for work clothes. You can find inexpensive decent stuff at places like Old Navy, or try Banana Republic or Ann Taylor, if you're willing to spend more money.
Think colors like white, navy, black, chocolate brown, and classic styles like tailored shirts, skirts and trousers.

go on riverisland.com and go on waistcoats the fifth one along is nice and would go well with the second to last pair of smart trousers in the smart trousers section. and the waistcoat could go over a brightly coloured shirt.

I think that skirts tend to either look kind of trashy or cheap if they are tight and short, or they are really just the run of the mill jean skirts that are not necessarily sexy.

Try maxi skirts with the medial side slits those will look great you! It doesn't matter if you have long legs or not merely strut that skirt

it depends on where you're working
but i'd go with a really cute black top that has that unique dress style that everyone's wearing nowadays... and then i'd go with a pair of skinny jeans and a nice necklace with that.
btw flats are always in!

A nice (not too long) black dress, with a teal cami underneath, with some ballet flats, and some cute black bangles and black earings, or maybee some teal bangles and teal earings so you won't look like your in all black.
