Can you use customer account numbers in Quickbooks?
I can see how you can use customer names, search on customer names etc. But can I also use customer account numbers and then be able to EITHER search by customer name or customer account number?

Yes. Use the Account No. field in the Payment Info tab of the customer record. When you use the find tool, select the Name Acc.Num / Note filter. You should note however that the find utility will look for a number sequence. For example, Customer A has been assigned acct. # 123456. If Vendor B has been assigned acct. # 6123456, it will also appear in the search results.
