My partner and I are considering a move to Canada. As two women in a relationship are there any particularly less tollerant areas we shoukd avoid looking at?

there are jerks everywhere you go so is one part of Canada less jerky than others
HMMMMmmmm I would say you will be more likely to be accepted in the large and medium cities, the smaller cities, towns and rural areas it is hard to say how they would react. For my money I WOULD look at Vancouver and Toronto as being the most gay friendly but then you have the problems of big city life.
As for me if you and your partner decide to come to Canada welcome if not I hope you find a nice place to live

Canadians are generally extremely tolerant of differences, be it race, sexual orientation, nationality, or religion... so even if you were to come in contact with people who disapproved of same sex relationships, you might not even notice that you have.... granted, there is always going to be that one idiot, regardless of where you go, but you'll find less in Canada.
The previous poster was correct, larger cities tend to have gay communities within the city, so if this is something that you'd prefer, Toronto and Vancouver are both beautiful cities (Vancouver is California expensive and Toronto is less expensive, say New York expensive).

I also live in a small town, and I find that they are a little...jerkish. I came from a large city and personally think that people there have less time to care about your sexual preference than in a small town. I'd look into moving to a larger city.

You would be better off staying in and around middle and large cities. Small towns = small minds. Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal are good places to consider if you don't mind the loud, thick crowds.

i live in a small town and people care about if kindeness etc more than your sexual preference....also you can legally get married in canada so that should give you some idea of how we are here.

I don't think so, Canada is practically pro-gay.
