going watch fireworks?
well, my husband has been planning to take Ethan to watch fireworks today as we thought i would still be on bedrest, but then Ella came. i keep telling him he should still go, but he just wants to stay at the hospital with me. i guess thats nice, but really i will be fine by myself, and my family and friends will be there and i just think it would be a special thing for him and Ethan to do, especially since we wont have as much time as we did before with a new baby and everything. should i just try to convince him to go, or should i get a friend or somebody to take Ethan?
but...i feel glad he wants to be there, i just think he needs to be with Ethan. i think he is trying to make up for loss time though because with Ethan, we were only 16 and my dad wouldnt allow him to come to the birth of Ethan. he didnt see me till Ethan was one month old, that was the first time he seen me since i got pregnant. and i think he jus really wants to be there for Ella since he wasnt there for Ethan, but now is his chance to be there for Ethan....

I think you should try to convince him to go. It will be good for Ethan. If he does not take him and Ethan is really wants to go, it will be like he is choosing the baby over Ethan. it is very important to show Ethan that just because the baby is here that nothing is going to change with him.

Convince him to go with his father. Tell your husband that this time with Ethan will be an enjoyable experience for them both and something that Ethan needs. Why? Ethan will need this bonding time, and more in the future because of the new family member. He may start to feel left out and that mommy and daddy devote too much time to the baby, so Ethan needs all the attention he can get right now and in the future.
And since it sounds like Ethan has a great father, then their is really no replacement for his father. Having a friend take him would do no justice what so ever.
God Bless, and congratualations on the new addition to your family.

aaww, Tell him to go have a father son fourth, Your son will probably have the time of his life and will probably never forget!
Have him take him to dinner where ever Ethan wants to go and then go watch fireworks together..
Ethan may feel a little left out with all the attention that the new baby is getting and will get when you all get home, This would be the perfect oppurtunity for some much needed one no one attention for little Ethan..

I think it would be really nice if you could convince hubby to take Ethan. It will be something special just for him and dad - very important when all the focus is on the new baby.
If not, if you have a close friend who could take him then that would be next best!

Convince your husband to take your son to the fireworks show. He'll have plenty of time to help you with your new daughter when you get home. Plus, like you said, you're both going to pressed for special alone time for your son.

You should ask him to take your son. They'll have such a good time together.
