someone told me that a female can still get preggers if the guy had had a vasectomy done. Is this true?

Yes. It can take six months for the last of the sperm to drain out of the plumbing. That's not a failure of the vasectomy, it's the guy not understanding how the procedure works.
After that, a properly done vasectomy should be quite safe.

Yes it is. I have a female friend who had 3 children and was done having them and her husband had a vasectomy to keep them from further having children. Then she wound up pregnant with her 4th child. And no, she wasn't cheating, and yes, the kid is his. It happens.

Almost impossible, if he had a "traditional" vasectomy. If he had one of those "high-tech" vasectomies, then the chances can be as high as 50%.

Not if it was dine right and he was checked for sperm. But make sure he shows you proof of a sperm test. And for other info here, if the was is cut and tied, the possibility is nearly impossible to grow back together,, I had about 2 inches cut out of it, so don't tell me the vasd. can grow back together.

Yes. Sometimes the tube repairs itself. Scary but true. It's not likely, and not that common, but if you are afraid of this, make sure you use protection.

Yes its true, very very rare but true. The doctors may not do it right as well.
