  • What other auction sites would be best to sell my items on other than Ebay?

Now that Ebay has become really expensive with all the small charges tacked on to everything, are there any other sites I can use that would get the same kind of results? I've searched for other auction sites but was hoping someone here could give me input based on personal experience.

  • What type of business would be best for tax purposes?

I'm trying to start my own business and want to do it legally (pay taxes and obtain a business license). I'm wondering what type of business I should create that would benefit me most for tax purposes? I would be the only owner and would be the only employee. Would "Inc." be best or LLC., etc? I plan on taking out 25% out of every profit I make and putting it aside for taxes. I assume I would pay taxes quarterly? I want to get a business license but have no idea what type I should get. I keep getting confusing information when I do research so I thought someone here might be able to help. Thank you!

  • How can I repair my metal front door to my house?

We bought a foreclosure and the only major damage is to the front door. The house was stripped but we have replaced all fixtures, etc - They previous owners tried to pry the deadbolt lock off the front door when the bank took possession. It would be expensive to replace the door. They run anywhere from $400.00 to 600.00! It's metal, painted matte white, and has a stained glass window in it. Is there any way to repair the dents in the door? If I needed professional repair, who would I call? Some of the paint was scraped off too. Any ideas?

  • Why do I feel like my answers are dismissed because I'm a caucasian straight female?

I answer questions in different sections of Yahoo Answers. I always try to answer based on how I might feel in their situation. I feel if we are all people, we can all identify with each other. It's about who we are, not WHAT we are. In the gay and lesbian section, I am often given a "thumbs down" whether I agree with the questioner or not. In the section of different cultures and races, I'm often given the same thing. If I'm not gay or a race other than Caucasian, it doesn't mean I don't have a good answer or cannot put myself in someone else's shoes. I've experienced racism myself. I don't answer questions that I wouldn't be able to identify with (like coming out of the closet). I'd just like to know why my answers are treated this way. Thanks

  • Trying to coerce me to sign a resignation letter when I was fired?

I was fired 3 weeks ago by a new office mgr. She had only been there 5 weeks. I've never been fired and was only there 10 months. She said my productivity was down since my first day but that was the first time I had heard anything about my productivity. I was very ill this year, had documentation from the hospital and doctors, and came back to work full time when I recovered. My former office mgr and I discussesd my illness and I assured them I was able to work. I was asked to start giving daily reports, to the new manager, of what I did all day and no one else was asked to do the same. When I was being terminated, my office mgr. said, "you have the option of signing a resignation letter to save you embarrassment should a potential employer call for a reference". I told her she could be in a lot of legal trouble if she gave me a bad reference for not signing a resignation letter. I feel I was fired for being ill this year, not for lack of productivity. Is what she did illegal?

  • How to handle short work history with last job?

I was fired from a job 3 weeks ago. The firm I worked for hired a new office manager in May and she said I wasn't productive enough (she said this at the time I was fired), even though I always finished my work, met all her goals, and was never spoken to about my productivity before my termination. I felt she was singling me out from day one and was asking me to track my daily work ,and give her a daily reports, even though no one else in my department was asked to do the same. I also felt she didn't like me but I was always very pleasant to her. I was very shocked when I was fired! I was only at that firm for 10 months and feel I'm not getting called for interviews because I was there for such a short time. It's the first time I've ever been teminated from an office job. She also gave me the option of resigning to "save myself embarrassment should a potential employer call for a reference". I didn't sign it. Any advice on how to handle this?

  • I was terminated and I'm not sure if I'm asking in the right section..?

The law firm I worked for hired a new office mgr. in May. She started singling me out and asking me to track my work every day and give her daily reports. I was hospitalized twice in March and she said I needed to be there during business hours when I asked to go to a follow up doctor appt. - I have a health condition that isn't curable. I went to my appt. and even had overtime that week. When she fired me, she said my production had been down from day one even though I always finished my work and met her goals. She NEVER spoke to me about my production and no one else in my dept. was asked to track their work. Then she said I had the option of signing a resignation letter to save myself embarrassment if a potential employer were to ask for a reference. I told her she is only allowed to give my hire date and verify my salary or she could be in legal trouble. I feel she was trying to get me to resign so they could get out of paying me unemployment. Isn't that illegal?

  • Tapers/Plugs for ear lobes?

Are tapers and plugs used specifically for stretching your ear lobes? Are they used for anything else? My 15 year old niece bought a pair and they look like long glass cones. She said they are earrings but they look like pre-gauge stretching tools to me. What are the small "o" rings for? The little rubber ones that are on the cones? I've seen plenty of body jewelry but these are new to me (the "cone" type). The worst I've done is get a tattoo and multiple piercings in my ears. Sorry if I seem dense but this stuff didn't exist when I was in high school! Thanks for your help!

  • Thank you note/card after interview?

I had a really long interview yesterday and heard back today that I pretty much have the job. I need to send thank you cards today but am not sure what to say. Two people interviewed me and we were all on a first name basis. What should I write in my thank you cards? This is a big, professional firm. Thanks!

  • Interview question?

I asked a question here not long ago but feel I rambled and no one understood what I was asking. Due to management and personnel changes where I work, and due to nine employees leaving because of these changes (since January), I feel it's no longer a positive environment. All personnel issues have been delegated to four shareholders in the company which clearly isn't working. It's almost abusive at times where I work and I am leaving because other people are preventing me from doing my job. The place I am interviewing this week also employs one of my former bosses, but he is one of over 30 executives in the new company. People expressed a concern for me because I would be working with this man again but I will be working in a totally seperate area and wouldn't work directly for him. My main question is, what reasons can I give a potential employer during an interview for leaving the horrible place I'm in? Professional opinions would be appreciated!

  • Most of the prejudice remarks have been again ME because I'm white....?

so can someone explain that one to me? I'm married to a latino man (Cuban born in NY - his parents are from Cuba legally became citizens) and most of the people who have made racist comments toward me were black men. Why is that? I've always seen people as people, not by color. I don't get it and I'm not racist at all. I usually only hear white people accused of being racist.

  • Expressing anal sacs?

I just answered a question about this which is ironic. I knew my dog needed to have her anal sacs expressed because she was scooting and licking herself on the behind a lot. I immediately took her to the vet and it was only $15.00! This was the first time and she is almost 3 years old. I also feed her a vet recommended diet and she is not overweight. Anyway, I just wanted to know if this will always be something I will have to deal with or if this will be something that doesn't have to occur more than once or twice. I know the signs and will take her in again if it happens. Those of you with exprience with this, could you please let me know how often it's happened to you and if I should expect it to keep happening? I didn't think to ask the vet and the tech brought her back while the vet moved on the the next client.

  • How do you know when your dog is fully potty trained (outside the home)?

We adopted a stray and have been using the crate when we aren't home. We knew nothing about him and he is about a year old. He obviously had no potty training when we got him 7 weeks ago! He hasn't gone potty in the house for over two weeks and we take him out often (after playing, eating, sleeping, when he sniffs, etc.). He only tends to have an accident when he is playing a lot with our other dog. Anyway, he seems to have learned to sit by the door when he wants to go out at home. We took him to visit my mom and he was playing with our other dog and peed on her carpet! He seems fully potty trained at home. When do you think it's realistic to expect him to be potty trained outside the home? We use Petzyme to clean accidents. We also had him outside a lot at my mother's house and walked him a few times to make sure he wouldn't pee at my mother's house! Any suggestions?

  • Herbal Supplements to grow hair more quickly?

My friend at work wanted to know how she could grow her faster and asked if I knew of an herb or all natural supplement to help with that. I have no idea because my hair grows very quickly in the summer. Could you please tell me what she could use and in what form and dose? Thanks

  • Separation Anxiety?

My "new" dog yelps and cries when we put him in his crate when we leave for work. He is about a year old and we know nothing of his background. He was a stray and wasn't even potty trained! I come home for lunch and when I arrive home, I ignore his crying and only let him out when he stops. I don't pay attention to him right after he comes out of the crate until he goes outside and pees. I immediately take him out as soon as he is out of the crate. Then he gets tons of praise! He isn't safe outside the crate because he likes to chew and is still putting anything and everything in his mouth. He WANTS to be crated at night and never makes a sound when we crate him in our bedroom at night. I'm not sure how to resolve the yelping and crying during the day while we are at work. It doesn't go on long( 10 minutes maybe?) We went out for two hours last weekend and he creid the entire time we were gone! Our neighbor reported this to us. Maybe it's the "day" crate?
