Newly declassified documents show, that US army planned to test sarin gas on Aussie troops, what you think?
http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article....
Newly declassified Australian Defence Department and Prime Minister’s office files show that the United States was strongly pushing the Government for tests on Australian soil of two of the most deadly chemical weapons ever developed, VX and GB — better known as Sarin — nerve gas.
The plan, which is disclosed for the first time on tomorrow’s SUNDAY program on Nine, called for 200 mainly Australian combat troops to be aerially bombed and sprayed with the chemical weapons — with all but a handful of the soldiers to be kept in the dark about the "full details" of the tests.
A former senior official with then Prime Minister Harold Holt, Mr Peter Bailey, tells the program that as far as he knows the tests never went ahead but the planning was very advanced.
He admitted the whole operation was to be kept secret because use of such weapons was almost certainly illegal under international law at the time.

Blessed, Yeah I know. (re atomic tests) there was one test, on average, per week for like two decades. I wonder what the effects were on the greater population.
Oh and they only half new it was dangerous.

Hi Nickoli, I just posted the same question and saw yours. I'm surprised by how many Americans are quick to dismiss this evidence as a conspiracy theory, but they might be forgiven for their poor education, patriotic brainwashing and limited knowledge of history.
The US government and military was completely nuts during the Cold War with the same kinds of dangerous and untrustworthy goons in charge like during the Iraq war. I think it's good that this information is being aired because if anyone could do with a history lesson to finally learn a lesson from, it's the Americans who blindly look up to their government and demand that the rest of the world do too.
A RELIABLE SOURCE - IT'S ON THE ABC NOW :)

What of it? In the 1950s the American military had a contest going on between the Marines and the Army. The generals were trying to get troops as close as they could to Ground Zero and still be effective using live nuclear bombs. One Army infantryman describes that even though he turned his head away from the fireball and covered his eyes, he could still see the bones in his arms.
So, don't worry. Be happy. Live one day at a time. If the muslims don't get you, the government will.

particular, I too heard the information comments and am saddened yet no longer in all probability that suprised once you think of lower back to all the sorting out that went on in the U. S. around that element, regardless of there very own troops..... yet i grow to be greater indignant via what "SFC Ollie" had to assert on the undertaking.......the excellent unfastened international does not look to the U. S. for management. And the reality is that the U. S. under no circumstances takes the lead in "the front against Freedoms Enemies" except that's in the U. S.'s very own economic pursuits. There are international locations around the international that have sent Peace Keepers & infantrymen into different international locations as a real front against freedoms enemies for Humanitarian motives purely and in many circumstances different international locations have asked for militia backing via the U. S. and that they have got not helped in any way. After East Timor grow to be invaded via the biggest Muslim united states of america in the international, the Oil resourses weren't sufficiently vast for them to deliver any troops to lower back up the Portugese and Australian troops (only as an occasion!!). As an Australian who has lived, travelled and labored in different international locations such because of the fact the U. S., uk, Europe alongside with jap Europe, Asia and the midsection East, i'd desire to element out that maximum individuals quite have not got any thought of something no longer State ingredient. I knew a retired American Vietnam Vet who had no clue that Australians & New Zelanders went and died in Vietnam too. maximum individuals today would desire to no longer call greater beneficial than 2 or 3 international locations that are combating on the side of them in Afganistan and Iraq. the main clarification for it quite is the constrained information reporting interior of usa. So that's no ask your self that a SFC military Retired does not understand the two..........

Typical American arrogance, and typical of the toadying attitude of the Australian Liberal Governments of the time. And, as little Johnny showed us, nothing has changed!
