Can/Should I take to small claims court?
A few friends of mine and I were planning a trip to vegas and I sent my "friend" $250 for my portion of our hotel, we later decided not to go but she refuses to send me the money back which was a check that she cashed. I have conversations regarding this and on the check, in the memo area, I wrote "for Vegas hotel". I'm wondering if it is possible to sue for that amount in small claims court and since we are in two different states how that can work? Thanks for any help you can offer.

sometimes it costs more to take these type of cases to small claims. The trips to court to set it up and then if the person does not show up to court you need to appeal for another court. The other person has options as well, if they were to loose the case they can choose a payment plan that can start as low as 10dlls a month. So it is good that you do some reserach before you take the person to small claim cause at the end you could end up loosing the 250 plus a lot more. Hope this info helped.
