am i a snake or horse (chinese astrology)?
My birthday is Jan '78. The Chinese new year begins in February. So '77 is sign of the snake, and '78 is sign of the horse. So what does that make me? Or am I a little of both?

I Know this My Brother was born Feb 2, 1978, The year of the Horse Started on Feb 8, 1978, so you we're born in Jan, 1978, so you are a Snake.

Since the Chinese New Year usually starts in early February, those who were born in January should consider themselves to be of the animal from the year before. You're a snake.

Glad to see meaningful discussions - people go beyond what the table mats shown in Americanized Chinese restaurants. You are born in year of horse, per Chinese lunar calendar. Chinese astrology, including "Zi Wei Dou Su" (Purple Emperor), and "Ba Zi" (Four Pillars) use Chinese lunar calendar, with minimum variation that sometimes require calibration. There have been cases I found Chinese astrology calendar and lunar calendar is one day off. Please do look into the wiki page discussing "Four Pillars" for more detail of how a person's birth year, month, day, hour would affect one's life-long fortune trend.

That would make you a snake, since Jan '78 is before February '78.
But wouldn't it be fun if you were a snorse? =D
