colleges in NJ that offer early childhood education majors!?

i'm looking to pursue a career as a prek-3rd grade teacher, so i would need at least an associates degree in early childhood education. what i really want to do is find a school/program that offers it fast track so i can at least have certification and some schooling and then hopefully with whatever job i land they'll help pay for the rest of my schooling..that's usually how it happens anyway. my problem is that i'm only finding places that offer BA's or MA's. i'm 22 and have not had any further schooling since high school in 2005 (i got my GED) so to be thrown into a school for several years is not something i want to do, which is why i'm asking about the ASSOCIATES degree. so please help. i live in morris county nj if this helps at all. i would really like to stay in the area or if at all possible, further up north so i could be closer to my boyfriend while he's attending wyotech in blairsville, pa in the fall. thanks in advance! :]

Update:

i know that there are tons of online courses available, but i'm not interested in those so please don't post any.. i mean as a last resort i will, but i learn better IN a classroom.

Update 2:

i basically have no idea what to do, it's not that i DON'T want to go to a 4 year college, i just thought it'd be easier to get some schooling and then finish later. but maybe i'm wrong and like i i said, i have no idea which is why i'm asking. thanks to everybody who has/will help me out! is a BA 4 or 5 years? i feel so dumb.

In order to become permanently certified as a teacher in the State of New Jersey, an applicant must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. To be certified in elementary education, the degree must be in the liberal arts or sciences.

So - if you're hoping to be an actual "teacher", you'll need that 4-year degree that you're hoping to avoid. You can find that information on the website I've linked below (The NJ Department of Education)

By the way, in New Jersey, all publicly-funded pre-school classrooms must also have a teacher with at least a bachelor's degree-level education.

I'd highly recommend that you contact the Department of Education for more information about the qualifications for various types of classroom positions within the state.

    Good luck!

Try The College of New Jersey (formerly known as Trenton State.) They have good programs in this field. Also try Rider University (formerly Rider College), and Mercer County Community College, plus the community colleges nearer to you (Raritan?) Course offerings vary. With just some class work or even with an actual associate's degree, you will have to start as an aide. If you are interested in nursery school teaching, give a call to U.N.O.W. Day Nursery in Princeton. They had excellent staff education programs, still may. They might hire you as a substitute classroom aide -- would at least get you started. It's a great place to work, and the administrators are very kind and nice, will spend time helping you think about other possibilities for developing your career, which is not something you'll get from most places you would apply for a job! good luck! :)
