Handgun recommendations for a female?
I'm not a petite female whose never shot before (sorry but a lot of questions I've seen are asked by 'tiny' women with tiny hands and blah blah). I'm in the service and so far I've shot a M-16, .22 rifle and a 12 gage shotgun (that was so much fun). I'm looking for a handgun (and no revolvers please) that if need be I can use it inside my home and not worry about the rounds going through walls and possibly hitting neighbors (I know that at least the first wall will be damaged - duh, unless I hit the person - double duh). So I'm looking for something small that I can keep on my person (if I get a conceal to carry obviously - and I don't use purses but I might when I get a handgun) but not pathetic tiny that won't have any take down force. As for calibers...don't really care, the higher count the cheaper right for the rounds??? Haha - I plan on using it a bit on the range since I'm used to rifles. Thanks for the recommendations!
Just looking for recommendations before I head over to the store/range so I can get a better idea, do research so I know what the clerk is talking about or referring too, of course I'm going to test them out, but I really have no clue - thanks!

Do not get anything smaller than 9mm. A .380 is insufficient as a primary carry weapon, it is just not powerful enough to give you the protection you need. For a first handgun in semi-auto I would recommend a Kel-Tec PF9, a Kahr CW9, a Glock 19 or 26 or a S&W M&P 9mm. Research those and handle them at the store. Shoot them if possible.

Check out this 9mm, great weapon. Not sure of it's price because it doesn't show. However, I know the .45 costs around $550 it's a great weapon as well. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Need to go to a gun range and shoot a few handguns That is the only way you will know what gun is the best for you. Someone tell you this or that gun doesn't know much about guns

Beretta Bobcat, it is .380, also called a 9mm short by some.
call around to the gun shops and ask who has a range, then ask if they allow customers to try out firearms.
MOST do.
