If your debit card has the Visa logo on it, then yes, you can use it anywhere Visa is accepted. There is one thing you need to keep in mind. If you use it like you would a credit card, it will still come directly out of your account but it will take longer to clear.

When used as a debit card with the pin number, their point of sale machine talks directly to your bank and it clears your account in 1 or 2 days. If you don't use your pin number because you are purchasing the item online, then their point of sale machine talks to VISA who approves the transaction. Then, VISA submits it to your bank for payment. It can actually take up to a week to clear your account. Plus, your bank won't see that transaction as pending so you will likely not get an accurate balance if you were to call them. Using it like a VISA is an easy way to overdraw the account. Plus, Visa does not know your actual balance so they may authorize a transaction for you even if you don't have the money in your account.

You can safely use your Visa debit anywhere Visa is accepted as long as you continue to be very vigilant in maintaining an accurate checkbook register.

YES... it's exactly like a credit card but the money comes right out of your checking account so make sure you have the balance to cover the purchases. The only thing to watch out for with a debit card is when you use it as a credit card at a retail store. You usually have the option to select credit (meaning you sign) or debit (you enter Pin ID Number). Some banks charge you more when you use the debit option. That won't apply to online purchases but something to watch out for as those fees accumulate fast. Also using the card as a credit card, sometimes you will be asked for what's called a CVV or Security Number from the back of the card. Make a note of that number while you can still read it because it fades quickly and some vendors will need that to process through their bank to verify the card is in your possession. On a Visa/Mastercard it's a 3 digit code on the back by the signature panel... make a note of it.

You can but it's not recommended. It's better to use debit cards in stores so you can use your pin number and have the payment made right away.

I use mine all the time to buy stuff, online.

Make double-sure that you only order from trusted sources, who use secure payment sites. You can tell by looking at the web address in the Address box of your browser. Secure sites start with https://

    instead of plain http://
