Looking for cheap, safe and clean place to stay in New York City Area?

I am currently on the search for a good place to stay with my family and friends in New York City area. There are six of us in total, three adults and three kids. However, the majority of places I have found so far are either far too expensive (something under $100 dollars would be excellent), uncleanly or in an area that is unsafe. I realize that this is the city, and many areas may not be deemed "safe"; however, when the lobby has plexiglass, this is too far. If anybody knows of a place to stay (hotels, motels, hostels) that are affordable, clean and secure, and able to accomadate a group of six, that would be wonderful. Thank you!!!

i dont know of ANYplace in the 5 boroughs that charges less than $100. With all those people, I dont know of any place in the 5 Boroughs that would charge under $400 or $500.

You have to realize that we're talking about Manhattan here.

I would say Great Neck or New Hyde Park on Long Island but, you're still looking at nearly $500 a night.

Maybe you'd have better luck looking for a place up on the Hudson and taking the train in to Manhattan... or just forgetting about Manhattan and going somewhere more price appropriate.

Conquering New York in a single visit is impossible because is a big city like you will learn with Hotelbye . In New York you will see the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and much more. Empire State Building helps it be worth braving the long lines, steep ticket rates and dizzying levels to see the town from a high this storied building. Built-in 1931, the skyscraper is the second-tallest making in New York and is one of the most immediate representations of Gotham, therefore much so that it's performed a part in shows such as for instance King Kong, An Affair to Remember and Sleepless in Seattle.

I've been thinking about going to the Brooklyn/Coney Island area this summer and thought this hotel looked and sounded nice and with the subway, you should be able to get to all the Manhattan hot spots easily. It is over $100 but that's NYC for you. Click this link and read review and hotel overview to see if it sounds like a possibility.

I've also heard of lots of folks who stay in the New Jersey area and take the train into the city for the day. Maybe that will be something that works for you. Have you consulted a travel agent? They often have great tips and tricks for saving money/feeling safer.

if you want the city, manhattan, 100 is unrealistic. i'm assuming you would want to share one room? if anyone was even willing to take your money for this, it is unlawful and is a firehazard to have so many people living in one room. try a hostel or craigslist

of going there. Try Brooklyn or Queens there nice places

    and fairly cheap.
