Grade Point Average?

I like to think that I'm a 'naturally' smart person. I never study and I get straight A's. Next year, I will only be a junior, but I will have more than enough credits to graduate. And I will also be taking 3 honors classes and 1 AP class(keep in mind I'm only going to be a junior). And at least 2-3 more AP classes next year.

But, I have gotten 1 A-. So my grade point average is like 3.989. If I continue to get straight A's in high school, is that one A- going to come back and hurt me? Like when applying for colleges.

I have pretty high expectations for myself.

No, it won't make a difference. But you better start studying just to get in the practice. High school teachers are expected to pass everyone, so they cater to the bottom 20%. College professors don't have to pass anyone, so they'll expect you to work. Prepare yourself ahead of time or be prepared for a nasty shock.

It shouldn't, but that depends on where you apply and what your scores are on the ACT and/or SAT. Extracurricular activities and community service/involvement is also looked at when applying for colleges.

Pat yourself on the back. No the one A- shouldn't hurt you. However, extra activities always help.

Dude...a 3.9 out of 4 is f***** amazing. I study every night and its hard to maintain my 3.6. A 3.9 is Princeton and Harvard worthy.

you have a 3.989 gpa, and you have to ask?

    i'd assume it wouldn't.
